Sudoku is a single-player puzzle game, but it can be turned into a fun competition too! Join the Sudoku tournament and strive to reach the top.
While the tournament is running, you can collect points for any Sudoku you play, regardless of its difficulty. However, the harder the puzzle and the quicker you solve it, the more points you earn. The puzzles you fail to complete are also accounted for, even if the points you receive for these are minimal. The top three players at the end of the competition receive trophies to congratulate them on their success.
May the God of Numbers and Sudoku grids be on your side - good luck and good work!
While the tournament is on, you will automatically receive points for all the Sudoku puzzles you play. Uncompleted puzzles are also accounted for, to ensure no player is penalized for trying to improve their skills and play harder difficulty levels.
The tournament points are calculated as follows:
POINTS = BASE_DIFFICULTY_POINTS x PCTG_COMPLETION_MULTIPLIER x HINTS_PENALTY x ERRORS_PENALTY x VICTORY_MULTIPLIER
BASE_DIFFICULTY_POINTS:
DIFFICULTY | BASE POINTS |
Kids 4x4 | 20 |
Kids 6x6 | 50 |
Very Easy (App only) | 25 |
Easy | 100 |
Medium | 150 |
Hard | 200 |
Evil | 250 |
Impossible | 300 |
PCTG_COMPLETION_MULTIPLIER:
Board Completed | MULTIPLIER |
Yes | 1 |
No | Cells correctly filled / Empty cells x 0.5 |
HINTS_PENALTY: Each hint removes 10% of points (1 − HINTS x 0.1). The value can never be less than zero.
ERRORS_PENALTY: Each error detected using the “Check for solution” option removes 5% of points (1 − ERRORS x 0.05). The value can never be less than zero.
VICTORY_MULTIPLIER: Uncompleted puzzles = 1. Otherwise:
VICTORY_MULTIPLIER = TIME_MULTIPLIER x PERFECT_GAME_BONUS x DAILY_GAME_BONUS
TIME_MULTIPLIER: The time multiplier uses a cubic bezier of 2 at 0 seconds and 1 at max time or above. This makes the time multiplier decrease faster at the start of the game and slower as time passes. In other words, the players are not penalized for taking longer than the max time to solve the puzzle, but receive a bonus if they solve it faster.
The max time changes according to the difficulty of the puzzle:
DIFFICULTY | MAX SECONDS | MULTIPLIER AT 1m | MULTIPLIER AT 3m |
Kids 4x4 | 213 | 1.3 | 1.01 |
Kids 6x6 | 591 | 1.56 | 1.28 |
Very Easy (App only) | 238 | 1.34 | 1.03 |
Easy | 1060 | 1.67 | 1.44 |
Medium | 1381 | 1.71 | 1.51 |
Hard | 1800 | 1.74 | 1.56 |
Evil | 1899 | 1.75 | 1.58 |
Impossible | 1931 | 1.75 | 1.58 |
The maximum times were defined based on thousands of games completed on our website and mobile app.
PERFECT_GAME_BONUS: A game without a single mistake gives 20% bonus points (1.2)
DAILY_GAME_BONUS: Daily games award 20% bonus points (1.2)
